Day 11 - Sharing Your Inner Voice

Thank you for taking the journey with me towards finding your inner voice. At every stage of our lives, our inner voice needs to be fully heard and acknowledged and you are doing just that!

We’ve practiced:

  • gratitude

  • body positivity

  • self-love

  • understanding fear

  • embracing emotion

  • self-awareness

  • being present

  • identifying inspiration

  • sharing boldly

…and much more!

Humans deserve kindness, and most of the time it’s our instinct to give that kindness and love away to others. We forget to ever give something to ourselves. For me, it’s a huge part of my job to tell the story of a specific character with as much ease and believability as possible. I strive to highlight the humanity as well as I can. It’s a good reminder, as an actor, that when I give so much thought and energy to a ‘fictional’ character, it’s ten times more important to start giving that to myself. That’s what I want to imprint on you. Take the time to cultivate your inner voice and know, this is just the beginning. If we can continue to find our inner voice, our experience will continue to be more authentic and meaningful, no matter what stage of life we are in!

We watch and follow the story of humans living their life and we make connections with them. We see them fail and fall and then strive and then succeed. And we remind ourselves that we’re human too. We’re all connected. Obviously putting this all together is powerful and incredible and an exciting part of your journey but the journey will not end here. The journey will continue to go on and there will be many other experiences, lessons, and new colors to add to your painting! Through this journey, we can learn how to be our own best friend and our own soulmate.

It is so important to amplify our inner voice. I have felt amplified by many teachers like Don Miguel Ruiz, Brene Brown, my drama teachers, my friends… but most importantly, myself. It's about me giving myself permission to do exactly what my soul wants: feel proudly and sing loudly. Sing, well, yes, literally! But also to work on the connection between my inner voice and what comes out of my mouth because what we say to ourselves has a ripple effect. Our inner voice creates our outer experience.

I encourage you to revisit the lessons in this workshop as much as you need them. You can continue to cycle through the entire workshop or visit specific days that really resonate with you. Know, I am always on this journey with you to finding our inner voice!

Exercises & Journal Prompts

Inner Voice Journaling (Daily Practice)

I’ve recently found how cleansing and empowering it is to wake up and write in a journal and practice that internal conversation. Apart from my gratitude practice, outlined on Day 7, I write down what would make my day amazing and my goals for the day. Then, before going to bed, I journal and reflect on the questions, What made my day amazing? What could have made it better? What happened today that left me feeling happy/sad/angry/emotional/loved? This journaling practice is a beautiful way of discovering how to speak to and with your inner voice in a healthy and encouraging way. With repetition and patience, you can regularly amplify your inner voice.

  • Begin with the questions below but you can always create new questions by exploring what you might ask a friend who is dealing with a certain emotion or experience.

    • Morning:

      • What would make your day amazing?

      • What goals do you have for your day? Even if it’s just a feeling or a color.

    • Evening:

      • What made my day amazing?

      • What could have been better?

      • What happened today that left me feeling emotional? What emotions came up?
