“Blue Moons aren’t really blue at all, but are rare appearances of two full moons in one calendar month. Anyone else overwhelmed with clarity of why your life has been nuts lately, as in, this entire summer?! We’ve all been creating tension. If you’re into metaphors, we’ve been pulling a rubber band waiting for our “snap moment” to reveal the truth, light, and newness, which is scary but also pretty rad and hopeFULL!!
The moon has pulled me into an irresistible flow and if I can offer any advice during this universe chaos, it would be to let the current carry you into new miracles, big and small. THE CLASS:
My miracles as of late started at The Class + The Heart + The Relief Event hosted by Lululemon and Whole Foods.
Woah. Where do I start? I can’t remember the last time my mind, body, and spirit were so lovingly overwhelmed. To say we experienced a fitness class is a vast understatement. Full body transformation would be more accurate.
So what is “The Class”?
It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I pride myself on taking some of the most difficult fitness classes in New York City and NOTHING has pushed me to my edge like The Class. The Class is designed by grace goddess, Taryn Toomey (who I’m dying to meet!) and fosters a mind body transformation by taking you to your intensity limit. I was on my hands and knees pulsing my leg in the air with sweat and tears streaming down my face. Forget keeping your cool in this class…chaos arises followed by a guided tour out of the muck and into the light. Our Soul Tour Guide was Natalie Kuhn who is a ray of sunshine and magic. My soul was connected to this beauty the second I met her! Natalie and the experience of the class felt like an absolute cathartic gift. I was able to release trapped energy and emotions that I’m certain had been in my body for months. Seriously sore muscles were a complete afterthought of the experience but should be noted! #strongbody #strongmind
We are all storing emotions, thoughts, and experiences within us and its our job to unpack them in a way that helps us grow. Our bodies are temples. Maybe that resonates like crazy or maybe it doesn’t at all. Maybe, for you, fitness represents something purely physical but as performers and more importantly, as human beings we are called every day to tap into the deeper part of ourselves so we can offer authenticity and connection. That’s what being on stage is all about! That’s what LIFE is all about. So maybe for you, it’s about reevaluating what kind of workout will facilitate this mind body connection. Maybe it’s just about understanding that emotions, positive and negative, come up when we’re being active so diving in to what that means for you is important.

After class, Ksenia, the super soul behind Breakfast Criminals, introduced her mission and spoke wonders into my heart! Her journey began after a heartbreak that propelled her to explore ways in which she could love herself more, beginning with food. She purchased a heart bowl with the intention of starting each day with a nourishing meal that made her feel good right down to her soul. *applause* She’s been soaring ever since and inspiring people globally to start their day with heart! As performers, we feel the weight of perfection looming over us and self validation is key! Guess where that starts?! Your body! And to kickstart your self-love through food, here’s a delicious Fit for Broadway acai bowl recipe, doused in soul of course. Acai is a superfood packed with nutrients to boost energy for a midday pick me up. Two show day anyone?… here’s your remedy! 😉
- 1 frozen banana (unfrozen banana will make smoothie consistency runny)
- 1 package of Acai Berry Superfood
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 T slivered almonds
- 1 T goji berries
- 1/2 kiwi diced
- 1 T dried coconut flakes
- 3 strawberries sliced
- 1 tsp honey drizzled
- Blend smoothie ingredients together on high.
- Add toppings!
