Guys! Hi! Welcome to February. *deep inhale | deep exhale*
Today, we introduce monthly themes on FFB and February is Brave Month… meaning content, features, events and apparel will orbit around the ways we define and redefine bravery in our lives daily. The word brave is going to sit up on a little shelf in our hearts this month and we’ll study and poke at it until we get clear about how it’s showing up for us. Who’s ready?!
It’s also Black History Month and we have powerful voices sharing story this month. We’re honoring the conversation starting off this weekend with one of our nearest and dearest, Abiola Ogunbiyi.
We’re kick starting our Brave convo today with a group text about how we define brave. We’re going to circle back at the end of the month to see how our perspective shifts and expands so jump in with us today. Day 1 of Brave.
Reminder: Mark your calendars for February 13th BTW
To be brave is to be yourself. Being brave means facing fears and doubts and doing it anyway. Bravery is when you allow yourself to feel how you feel and truly sit in that. Bravery comes from others and from within. Bravery is difficult and simple. To be brave is to know yourself.
Bravery is finding the strength to move forward when the obstacles feel paralyzing. To me. <3
Being brave means taking risks and stepping outside your comfort zone. Being brave is having the courage to push your limits regardless of fear.
Brave. To live in courage. A warrior of change and challenges. Standing boldly in both fear and the unknown.
My definition of brave is trying or doing something that scares or challenges you. It is about entering an unknown area. Big OR small, all acts of bravery are important and essential for individual growth.
Brave. Keep Going. Just Keep Going.
Bravery is one of the main ingredients in my recipe for integrity. It’s the connector that turns dreams into reality. An act of bravery has a pure intention meant for the highest good regardless of outcome. In a Red rover line, Bravery holds the hands of Trust, Faith, Vulnerability and Courage. An ornament on Sovereignty’s tree.
‘Bravery’, for me can be as simple as deciding you’re worthy enough to add your name on an audition list and be seen, or as big as deciding to move to a brand new city and pursue your dreams! I also believe that each daily act of Bravery (or each step outside your comfort zone) coincides with our own personal little Triumphs and ‘Victories’. By choosing to pursue what makes you happy, or adding your name to a list regardless of whether or not you’ll be seen at that audition, you are being Brave and that alone is a major VICTORY! We all carry enormous potential and Bravery within us, all it takes is deciding to let it be free! “It’s better to be in the arena, getting stomped by the bull, than to be up in the stands or out in the parking lot.” – Steven Pressfield We’ve got this! It’s time to let our Bravery run wild!
