hi hi hiiii you guys!! I am back from my vacation to Spain and Italy with FFB alum, absolute wonder woman, and one of my best gals, Ashley Park.
A lot of you know this about me but traveling is when I feel most me. It sparks such intense inspiration and clarity for me and this trip was no different. The best part though— traveling with an FFB buddy.
Like, the absolute best experience ever and a first for me! I didn’t realize how in sync we would be about every little detail of the trip but adventures in FFB land are way better with your BFF.
note: the above picture isn’t a postcard 😉 I snapped this after our heart pizza experience.. still can’t believe this was our view #paradise
>>> 8 Reasons You Should Travel With Your FFB BFF <<<
1. You both want to be active every day.
Every day we were both on a mission to sweat at least once even if it meant running up a million stairs instead of taking the tram to the town square for lunch. A few of the highlights for me were definitely paddle boarding, an epic bike tour throughout Barcelona, and literally climbing to the top of Capri via what felt like a stairway to heaven for our lunch! (stair sesh complete with our Demi Lovato & Justin Bieber workout playlist)
2. You are both on a mission to find the local healthy spots. #ProfessionalJuiceHunters
I am a self proclaimed juice hunter and pride myself in stumbling onto juice spots regularly but didn’t think I’d meet my match!! Ashley and I were both so in tune with finding the local hot spots for a good smoothie bowl or cold pressed juice to balance out our morning Kronut or late night pasta. Like the night we went to a spot called Teresa’s in Barcelona immediately after one of our tapas meals and chugged green juice. Balance, right?! 🙂 Our best move, Day 1- finding the juice spot in Barcelona and getting a cold pressed juice and almond milk coffee smoothie for the entire week so we could guarantee a healthy start to each day!
Our favorites finds:
- Green & Berry (Barcelona)
- Teresa’s (Barcelona)
- Casa E Bottega Juice Bar (Positano)
3. Broadway is always a fun topic of conversation #BroadwayBeachBabble
Broadway proved to be our favorite topic and offered hours and hours of fun convo on the beach and over our tapas tours and pasta platters. It was also fun to meet locals & tourists and explain to them what we both did in New York. Lesson from our interactions >> #peoplelovebway
4. You are both insanely tuned in to how much sleep you need.
We were always making sure we filled our days to the brim but made sure we got enough sleep even if it meant catching a cat nap on the beach before dinner or getting home early for an early morning tour.
5. You both want to make a positive experience out of anything!
Ashley and I were ready to turn any mishap into a masterpiece and made sure if something went wrong to get the positive vibes flowing and make a quick change of plan to make the most of our trip. It was awesome to feel like we were team players in keeping the energy positive and buzzing at all times.
6. You can help each other take epic travel pics slash not have to explain why 300 photos on a paddle board is necessary.
This legitimately happened. We took over 600 photos while paddle boarding and I don’t regret it one bit. I think it was one of the times in the trip when we laughed the most and we both ended up with some pretty epic shots of our sunrise paddle board! 🙂 It was awesome to always be creatively looking for photo opportunities and snapping away so we could document all of our memories.
7. You both know it’s all about balance.
I loved traveling with someone who was equally interested in finding the best gelato and the best smoothie! That’s how I live my day to day and Ashley is no different. Apart from food, (which was what we spent about 80% of our time thinking about) we tried to keep a healthy balance for every aspect of the trip. Even understanding the moments of imbalance and being able to help level out the other person by taking the reins on whatever was going on in our travels. Like, hello 4:30am wake up call for our flight to Italy— no one is balanced at that hour even with a green juice in hand but it’s nothing a nap, yummy meal, and positive attitude can’t fix!
8. Even if they aren’t a BFF yet, they will be by the end!
Ashley and I clicked from the first time we met so there wasn’t a doubt in my mind it’d be an awesome trip with her. Truth be told though, we hadn’t spent a ton of one on one time together prior to the trip. We knew enough to trust it’d be a great but admitted afterwards we weren’t sure if there would be lots of ups and downs. Literally, there were no downs. It was perfect. I can’t imagine a more ideal trip and feeling so grateful I gained an amazing new BFF from the whole experience. #newyearlytradition #wheretonext
One of my favorite quotes from the trip was when Ashley said “It’s in the You Are Everything” bag… referring to the “You Are Enough” totes we used for beach bags. lolz. I couldn’t stop laughing.
Ashley, this trip was EVERYTHING and so are you!
right to left / top to bottom: 1. E-bike tour through Barcelona (as in a super charged bike to help you pedal..it’s amazing!) 2. Ashley sippin’ an iced coffee from our fav spot near our Airbnb 3. The prettiest smoothie ever from Green & Berry, our absolute fav juice spot on the trip 4. Banana oatmeal and a dragonfruit bowl from Green & Berry 5. Paddle Boarding in Positano when we took 600 photos, on the water with an amazon waterproof case that literally was the best purchase for the trip (thanks ashley!) 6. Going to dinner in Capri and being so lost 7. The most delicious smoothie bowl of my life from our juice spot on Positano 8. Gelato, because duh. 9. the prettiest kronut I’ve ever seen… took like 30 minutes to decide because they were ALL this pretty
