Hi my loves!! 🙂
Last night, one of my best friends Steven came over for dinner and after catching up, I shared an article with him that rocked my world from The S-Life Mag about the New Moon! In summary, this New Moon is all about balance, love, and self-care. In the last few months, I’ve become obsessed with astrology as it offers another layer of understanding into my internal and external happenings. Very similar to the way exercise gives me insight into how my body, mind and soul are feeling each day or the way singing helps me find harmony with my emotions and thoughts.
After dinner, Steven and I decided to have a ceremony celebrating the new moon with Flying Wish Papers (gifted to me by my sweetest dearest, Cassie Silva). We wrote intentions by candlelight– what we want to manifest, what we want to let go of, things we are grateful for, our dreams, our goals, and anything else that felt appropriate for transitioning into a new phase of life!
We watched our words burn, spark into flight and float up. It was seriously magical and totally set my energy in a new, open space for what’s ahead in the next months, the last chapter of 2015.
MORNING PRACTICE | I Am Grateful for…
Brainstorming how we could actually stay on track with our new fiery, positive energy, Steven and I decided to commit to a gratitude practice every morning– jotting down a list of things we are grateful for each day that help us identify the areas in our life that are FULL and not lacking. I’m a type-A, go-getter and the norm for us folks is constantly identifying the areas in our lives that need work, change, and improvement. Super rad for getting things accomplished and being goal oriented. Not so rad for feeling content, fulfilled in the present, and going with the flow. The article outlined that we attract the things that we focus on. So focusing on positive (love, acceptance, self-care, gratitude) instead of negative (fear, lack, confusion, unknown), attracts more positive. Sounds pretty simple, right? But even the overly ambitious feelings of needing more, needing something or someone or some accomplishment to fulfill ourselves can rob us of feeling whole because those ambitious feelings are associated with lack. #YouAreEnough We’re programmed to act from a state of want, need, and desire but relaxing into complete contentment can help us feel more fulfilled, whole, balanced, & grounded– all the good feels!
The Morning Gratitude Practice is a simple way to begin manifesting fulfillment at the start of each day so that your daily goals and ambitions root in wholeness, not lack.
I’d love to hear what you all think about gratitude or the new moon or any new revelations you’ve had in Fall. Do any of you already have a gratitude practice of some kind? (click the comment button at the top of this post to share!) 🙂
The very first post on Fit for Broadway was a “Green Drink” recipe (my food name creativity obviously had a rough start 😉 I realized the Green Drink recipe needed a boost and with self-care being amplified with the new moon I created a smoothie bowl loaded with vitamins and nutrients to help you illuminate from the inside out. I had mine for breakfast this morning (so unlike me to skimp on oatmeal but this was worth it!) Also, it’s great as a post-workout energy boost or pre-show snack!
